Driver failed to yield the way

Crash results in charge

Failure to yield resulted in a motor vehicle crash in Coombs on April 22, along with a charge under the Motor Vehicle Act.

Oceanside RCMP Corporal Richard van de Pol said the incident took place at the intersection of Highway 4 and 4A just past 7:30 p.m.

“An 18-year-old male driving a Pontiac Grand Prix was attempting to turn left onto Highway 4A from Highway 4 and failed to yield to a Chevy Sprint which was coming straight ahead on Highway 4,” he said. “The driver of the Sprint tried to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful …”

No injuries were reported and the driver of the Grand Prix was charged with failure to yield at an intersection.
