Driver hits the ditch

Alcohol not suspected in crash

A Qualicum Beach woman is facing charges of driving without due care and attention and failing to keep right after her and her vehicle hit the ditch Saturday.

RCMP Corporal Richard van de Pol said police responded to a report of a potentially impaired driver  and, shortly thereafter, received another call informing them the vehicle had hit a road sign and was now resting in the ditch by Memorial Avenue.

Van de Pol said an investigation showed the 41-year-old woman was not impaired.
