Eight groups receive funds from Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus 7991 was in a giving mood recently.

The Catholic organization from the Church of Ascension doled out cheques to local organizations totalling $8,500.

Grand Knight Wayne Sapieha, along with the District Deputy Peter Horsfield and treasurer Dale Niwa, met the recipients at Parksville Community Centre.

The recipients were: Arrowsmith Community Justice Society ($500), Inclusion Parksville ($500), Manna Homeless Society ($1,750), Oceanside Hospice Society ($500), Salvation Army ($1,750), Special Olympics Oceanside ($750) and the Society of Organized Services ($1,750).
