Extreme weather shelter in Parksville closed for now

It was open nights from Dec. 3 until 9 a.m. Wednesday

Open since Dec. 3 for the homeless of the Parksville Qualicum Beach region, the extreme weather shelter was closed at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The cancellation of the shelter is “due to improved weather conditions and forecast,” said Susanna Newton, Alternate Regional Coordinator, Community Representative for the Oceanside Task Force on Homelessness.
