Global TV to broadcast from Parksville on Wednesday

Five Island communities will be featured this week, including Port Hardy, Comox, Duncan and Tofino

The City of Parksville is inviting the public to celebrate the community during a visit from Global B.C. this Wednesday, Sept. 25.

Chris Gailus, Squire Barnes and Kristi Gordon will host segments from the waterfront gazebo for BC 1 and the Early News prior to the News Hour at 6 p.m., and be available to sign autographs.

"Everyone is invited, rain or shine to come to the Community Park, meet the Global BC crew, watch the broadcast and join in the celebration," said communication officer Debbie Tardiff.

Five Island communities will be featured this week, including Port Hardy, Comox, Duncan and Tofino.

"We'd love for the biggest crowd on Vancouver Island to be in Parksville," Tardiff said.

The Parksville Lions Club, key partners in Community Park, will be on hand to serve free refreshments from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Global BC's Saturday Morning News will also highlight Parksville in their Small Town B.C. feature Sept. 28 and are asking for pictures of the community to be sent to weekendnews@globaltv.com.
