A Grinch is on the loose in Parksville.
The Society of Organized Services (District 69), currently busy collecting donations to make Christmas brighter for Parksville Qualicum Beach residents, reported via social media on Thursday night (Dec. 16), that one of their thrift shop trucks was stolen.
The vehicle is a 2012 Ford E-450, B.C. licence plate JG5 424.
“Please help us spread the word and just maybe, we will see it again,” read the social media post.

According to Sgt. Shane Worth with the Oceanside RCMP, the investigation is still ongoing as police canvass the location the truck was stolen from in search of video footage that might help identify suspects.
“We were very surprised and disheartened to hear about one of our thrift shop trucks being stolen,” said Susanna Newton, SOS executive director. “We are working very hard to keep our thrift shop operating as optimally as possible despite the challenges with the pandemic, and this is another set back.”
Thrift shop operations manager Paulette Harcourt clarified that there are two other thrift shop trucks. The other two, while they look very similar, are GMC trucks, and one of them has a green hood.
If anyone sees the missing truck, they are asked to report it to the Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111.
