Kay Gibson celebrated her 101st birthday on Tuesday. Born in Winnipeg, Gibson moved to Victoria at 14 years old and over the years she has worked at Jubilee Hospital, Safeway and was a shipyard welder during World War 2. Today, Gibson lives independently in Parksville, knits regularly and is an avid reader.
