Heat warning issued for East Vancouver Island

Environment Canada has issued another heat warning for East Vancouver Island, including the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN).

Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 30 C from Tuesday, Aug. 23 through to Thursday, Aug. 25.

Residents are advised to activate their personal heat plans and to stay safe and cool indoors during extreme heat. For those who need relief from the hot weather, there are several locations in the RDN with cooling spaces that are regularly open to the public including libraries, shopping centres and recreational facilities.
