Highway 19A is closed in both directions north of Mystery Beach Road in Fanny Bay as BC Hydro repairs a hydro pole damaged by a single-car motor vehicle incident.

According to the Comox Valley RCMP, the highway will be closed for at least five hours, as hydro lines also collapsed onto the roadway around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Motorists are being warned to plan accordingly if using the Denman Island ferry at Buckley Bay.
