Impaired driver nabbed

Police say grossly intoxicated woman was caught thanks to alert and concerned citizens

An alert citizen is being credited with being a key player in the arrest of a suspected drunk driver in Errington.

Oceanside RCMP Corporal Jesse Foreman said the incident took place on April 30 when an alert citizen called the RCMP after observing a very erratic driver on Grafton Road.

“The complainant called 911 to report that a woman was driving a white Pontiac sedan and was all over the road, even swerving into the oncoming lane of traffic,” Foreman said.

Police rushed to the area, located the vehicle and arrested the grossly intoxicated female driver. Charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle have been recommended to Crown counsel.
