The next collection of municipal leaders are set to be named Saturday night, following general voting day (Oct. 15) in the 2022 elections the Parksville Qualicum Beach region.

Voters in the City of Parksville and Town of Qualicum Beach will choose a mayor and council. Electors will select a director for Areas F and G in the Nanaimo Regional District and voters in School District 69 (Qualicum) will choose a board of trustees.

Where you can vote:

In Qualicum Beach, the civic centre (747 Jones St.) is designated as the voting place on Oct. 15. Voting is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If voters wish to avoid the most popular times on general voting day, ballots are best cast in the late afternoon or evening, according to the release. Eligible electors that are not on the list of registered electors can register at the voting place immediately before voting, after providing identification.

In Parksville on Oct. 15, polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Parksville Community Centre on Jensen Avenue and Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church (550 Pym St.).

Detailed information for voters and for candidates running for council is available at Let’s Talk Parksville (www.letstalkparksville.ca) and the city’s website (www.parksville.ca).

RDN Area F residents can cast a ballot at the Bradley Centre and Lighthouse Community Centre on 240 Lions Way, Qualicum Beach.

Area G residents can vote at St. Columba Presbyterian Church Hall, 921 Wembley Rd., Parksville from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

School District 69 voters can find more information here. General voting will be open to qualified electors on Saturday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the following locations:

District of Lantzville: Costin Hall, 7232 Lantzville Rd., Lantzville.

Regional District of Nanaimo: Nanoose Place, 2925 Northwest Bay Rd., Nanoose Bay.

Parksville: Parksville Community Centre, 132 Jensen Avenue East.

Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church, 550 Pym St.

Qualicum Beach: Qualicum Beach Civic Centre, 747 Jones St.

Curbside voting will be available at each of the voting locations for electors who are unable to enter the voting place.

After 8 p.m. local time, election officials will begin counting and tallying the ballots.
