The Kulth Music Festival, dubbed the folk festival with an edge, has been cancelled this year after two years at the Coombs Rodeo Grounds.

David Fisher, organizer of the event, said they got hit with really bad weather the last couple of years and he needs some time to recover financially, as well as to spend some time with his family.

“My son just said to me one day, you know we’ve done a music festival every year of my life,” Fisher said about his 10-year-old. Fisher has been a big part of the Soundwave Music Festival in Ucluelet for over a decade, as well as other large shows, and said they really eat up a lot of your time.

He said he would like to reintroduce the festival down the road, as he has had great feedback and has been contacted by a number of interested artists this year.
