The City of Parksville will join other British Columbian communities in February’s Chamber of Commerce Week.

Mayor Ed Mayne has proclaimed Feb. 14 until Feb. 20 in the city as Chamber of Commerce Week, in support of the Parksville and District Chamber of Commerce.

According to a release from the city, the week recognizes the outstanding contributions chambers make to communities across the province and is an opportunity for chambers to showcase their work on behalf of business communities.

Each year, Parksville’s chamber members dedicate many volunteer hours in service to local business and the wider community.

A strong local business community is a key driver of economic prosperity, creating jobs and opportunities for residents and supporting community growth.

Chambers provide a place for entrepreneurs to share ideas about what’s working for their business. The Parksville and District Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to strengthening the City of Parksville’s business community and helping the city’s community to thrive.

“The chamber network and the support provided by the Parksville chamber is more important than ever as our businesses continue to navigate the extraordinary circumstances and difficult challenges of operating during a pandemic. The Parksville chamber, as an integral part of our community, continues to demonstrate the good work they do for Parksville businesses,” said Mayne.
