A motor home went up in flames during the morning commute in north Nanaimo this morning.

The incident happened at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the intersection of the old Island Highway, Rutherford Road and Mostar Road and no one was hurt, said Jodi Le Masurier, Nanaimo Fire Rescue assistant chief.

She said the 20-foot motor home was “fully involved with fire” when crews reached the scene.

“The crew was able to quickly get it under control. It’s just happened recently here so the cause is under investigation,” she said.
