Chris Burger was the first to declare his candidacy for mayor of Parksville and is the only other declared candidate with Paul Reitsma. Others have since come forward.
Current councillors Sue Powell, Teresa Patterson and Carrie Powell-Davidson have said they intend to run for council, while Al Greir and Marc Lefebvre have not said. While the papers can only be filed from October 4 to 14, two others have made their intention to run public: Bill Neufeld, and Ballenas grad Alicia Vanin.
The final list of candidates in Parksville, Qualicum Beach, School District 69 and in the Regional District of Nanaimo, will be official as of Oct. 15.
