Nominations now open for councillor post in Qualicum Beach byelection

Candidates have now register through April 9

Candidate nominations for the vacant councillor position are now being accepted by the Town of Qualicum Beach.

The chief election officer Heather Svensen will accept nominations until April 9 at 4 p.m.

The byelection to be held on May 15 is for one seat, left vacant after Adam Walker was elected MLA for Parksville-Qualicum.

Nomination packages can be picked up from town hall between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays), until April 9.

Candidate information will be posted to the town’s website as it becomes available.

A formal announcement of all the candidates running in the byelection will be announced after the close of nominations on April 9. As of March 30, the first two candidates registered are Anne Skipsey and Sarah Duncan.
