Oceanside detachment commander, Staff Sgt. Marc Pelletier in his bright red serge, Const. Danielle Swanson and auxiliary constable Michael Dally, along with Parksville Qualicum Beach Tour de Rock rider Allison Roberts and Shane Coubrough of the Nanaimo RCMP greeted shoppers in the most spirited way, bearing smiles and handing out hugs.

Also assisting them was Parksville’s most prolific community volunteer Joan Lemoine, 88, who is also a staunch supporter of the Tour de Rock, having raised close to $30,000 in six years of having her head shaved. Parskville Qualicum MLA Michelle Stilwell also attended the fundraiser.

Their overall effort gained the Tour De Rock close to $4,000.
