Police are asking the public’s help to find a man believed to be involved with a break and enter attempt which knocked down the front doors of some T’Sou-ke Nation businesses Wednesday morning.

Sooke RCMP say it appears a vehicle was intentionally driven into Petro-Canada and Tim Hortons in the 6000-block of Sooke Road around 3:40 a.m. on Dec. 9.

It is believed that two suspects were trying to gain access to the ATM machine located inside the business. With the help of RCMP police dogs, one man was located and arrested while hiding in the bushes nearby.

A Tim Hortons’ baker was preparing for the day when “a loud crash, then a bang” occured, said April Sims, the Tim Hortons’ franchise owner. She told Black Press Media that her store will be closed on Dec. 9 and hopes to resume operations soon.

Police believe there is still one suspect outstanding and is asking anyone with information on the break and enter to call Sooke RCMP at 250-642-5241. Also, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
