Open house to highlight life at the animal shelter

Parksville SPCA to give a glimpse behind the scenes

What really goes on at the Parksville SPCA office?

That’s a question manager Nadine Durante wants to answer for as many people as possible when the local shelter holds a special open house event on Saturday, May 5.

The focus of this year’s event, Durante said, is volunteerism and she and the SPCA staff are eager to outline what volunteering opportunitiers are available at the shelter.

Karen Moe Photography will also be at the open house. Moe specializes in animal portraits and she can help anyone’s dog, cat, goldfish or hamster look their best.

The open house runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the shelter on the Alberni Highway.
