Public works superintendent Al Cameron supervises the extraction of town vehicle from its perch in a decorative planter.

It was just one of those things that happens, said public works superintendent Al Cameron Thursday after a Town of Qualicum Beach truck careened across Memorial Avenue after being left in neutral on a hill just after 9 a.m.

The errant truck, with nobody on board, ended up with its tail end hanging in space over the edge of one of the town’s decorative planters outside the Community Hall.

“There was no parking brake on and it was in neutral, so it rolled across the street,” he said.

“Nobody was hurt. That’s the good news.”
