Outdoor gym opens Saturday

The new facility is located in Parksville's Community Park beside the Lions' famous Ventureland playground and water park

With a long list of community contributions and support the Parksville Lions Club will officially open their wheelchair accessible outdoor gym at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15.

The new facility is located in Parksville’s Community Park beside the Lions’ famous Ventureland playground and water park.

The 10 pieces of durable outdoor fitness equipment allow for dozens of exercises for people of any age and fitness level and may be particularly useful for parents waiting for their children in the playground, Lion building chair Duane Round has pointed out in the past.

Rain or shine the public is invited to join MP James Lunney, MLA Michelle Stilwell, Parksville Mayor Chris Burger and Lions members for the official opening, complete with hotdogs and pop for the first 150 people.
