Cameras captured images of the suspect in Saturday’s bank robbery.

The manhunt is over. The suspect in the robbery of the Parksville TD Bank on April 9 — Douglas Darcy Evenson — was arrested without incident by Campbell River RCMP on an outstanding arrest warrant for Breach of Parole originating from the Victoria Parole office.

Evenson is being held in custody on that warrant and charges relative to the Saturday robbery have been recommended to Crown Counsel.

The robbery happened at about 2:50 p.m. at the Toronto Dominion Bank in Parksville on Sat., April 9, when a man entered and indicated to bank employees that he had a weapon. The man then demanded money before fleeing the scene with cash.

“No weapon was seen by bank employees,” Oceanside RCMP Cpl. Richard van de Pol said, noting nobody was injured in the incident.

An image of the robber was caught on camera and this photo was circulated to other departments. Before long, police had a good idea of who they were looking for.
