Parksville budget meeting scheduled for tonight

Mayor Chris Burger said they have some very tough decisions to make and welcome all the input they can get

Budgets are a hot topic these days and Parksville hopes for a good turn out at their first big public deliberation meeting tonight (Thursday).

Parksville council invites all concerned residents to the meeting, Oct. 10 at 5 p.m. in usual council chamber, The Forum, Parksville Civic and Technology Centre, 100 Jensen Avenue East.

Mayor Chris Burger said they have some very tough decisions to make and welcome all the input they can get.

He notes that since freezing 40 per cent of their budget categories in 2012, people are beginning to notice and complaints are increasing about things like park service levels.

They are also looking for creative revenue generating ideas.

The discussion will be live webstreamed and the video archived from the city website at www.city.parksville.bc.ca
