Although the cool wind whipped around on a cloudy Canada Day in Parksville, people lined the streets for an enthusiastic parade and filled the community park for live music, kids activities and more.
Local bands, including El Gemo, The Racket Club and and The McShane Family kept the crowd rocking throughout the afternoon while kids enjoyed a foam dance party, mechanical bull, miniature train and many bouncy castles.
A RV and Boat show in the Community Park also attracted many onlookers, while people chowed down on cotton candy, ice cream and snacks.
The day ended with the Thrifty Foods fireworks spectacular, seen from the beach and various vantage points around town.
