Parksville council has approved a bylaw for the city’s 2022-2026 Amended Financial Plan.

Council gave three readings to Five Year Financial Plan Amendment Bylaw, 2022-2026, No. 1577.1 during its Dec. 19 regular meeting.

Council approved a number of changes at its Dec. 5 meeting, following a presentation by Jedha Holmes, director of finance, and directed staff to prepare the bylaw.

Holmes’ presentation highlighted the challenges of completing projects while costs increase and orders of items, such as city works vehicles, are delayed.

The previous council gave three readings to the city’s five-year financial plan bylaw in May, but several amendments needed council direction and approval.

The plan sets out financial requirements needed for city departments to carry out operations and projects for the next half decade.

The bylaw was approved unanimously.
