Parksville council approved the concept of working with the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC (CHF BC) to explore the feasibility of developing 600 Alberni Hwy as a multi-family co-op housing project.
CHF BC can investigate the possibility at its own expense and city staff will provide a maximum three hours of service time for technical servicing and land use information in support of the study.

A motion, brought forward by Mayor Ed Mayne, was included on the agenda in lieu of notice so council could vote on it during the June 20 regular meeting.
It was carried unanimously.
CHF BC works to expand non-profit co-op housing, to promote better housing conditions in B.C., to share skills and information within the co-op housing sector, to represent co-op housing to governments and the public and to promote the co-op movement and principles, according to its website.
