Parksville council has voted to renew the city’s fire services agreement with the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN).

Council heard a report from Fire Chief Marc Norris during its most recent regular meeting.

The city has an agreement with the RDN to supply fire rescue and other related services to certain RDN properties located adjacent to the city limits, mostly in RDN Electoral Area G, according to Norris’s report.

The agreement provides for fire protection services to the Parksville Fire Protection Service Area and a portion of the French Creek Fire Protection Service Area, for the period January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2026, inclusive.
