Parksville police pinch prohibited driver's pot

After puling over a driver this week, police found two pounds of marijuana in Christmas parcels bound for Ontario.

PARKSVILLE - It wouldn’t have been out of place for Oceanside RCMP to have chortled out a hearty ho-ho-ho when they pulled over a car in Parksville this week.

Sergeant Darrell Robertson reported police pulled over the vehicle of a known prohibited driver on Tuesday and found two Christmas parcels prepared for the mail and destined for eastern Canada. The parcels contained about two pounds of marijuana.

Robertson noted police have made a recommendation to the Crown for, a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking” under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act against a 56-year-old Parksville man.
