Parksville Qualicum Beach crime report: Thieves target vehicle licence plates

Oceanside RCMP receive 221 complaints in one-week period

Oceanside RCMP received 221 complaints the week of Nov. 29 to Dec. 4.

Some of those incidents included:

Nov. 29

• B.C. licence plate NB382M was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Moilliet Street North, Parksville.

• California licence plate 6V0Z31 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Tanglewood Place, Parksville.

• Irrigation sprinkler heads were reported damaged in the 200 block of Jensen Avenue, Parksville. A male was arrested and referred to Restorative Justice in agreement with property owner.

• B.C. licence plate AL173X was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2500 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs.

Nov. 30

• A break-and-enter to a gate house was reported at the Rathtrevor Provincial Park, Parksville. Damage estimated under $500.

• B.C licence plates PG2178 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Grafton Avenue, Errington.

• Change was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 700 block of Morningstar Close, Parksville.

• Graffiti was reported sprayed on a fence in the 1500 block of Meadowood Way, Qualicum.

• The fuel line of a vehicle was reported cut in the 400 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

Dec. 1

• Change and a wallet were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1300 block of Lanyon Drive, Parksville. No damage noted to vehicle.

Dec. 2

• A Toyota Sienna with B.C. licence plate CA809X, was reported stolen in the 900 block of Lee Road West, Parksville. This vehicle has not yet been recovered.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of Horne Lake Road, Qualicum Beach.

• A stereo and subwoofer were among the items reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1300 block of Greenwood Way, Parksville. Also reported stolen was a gold colour Kona Firemountain bicycle from the yard.

• A Garmin watch was found in the 500 block of Hampstead Street, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• A Milwaukee quick charger and three batteries were reported stolen from a construction site in the 800 block of Doehle Avenue, Parksville.

• A prowler was reported in the 1100 block of Ormonde Road, Qualicum Beach.

• A vehicle was vandalized in the 100 block of Beachside Drive, Parksville. A male was apprehended and arrested.
