Parksville seeks new administrative director

Hiring spree continues

After a two year vacancy the City of Parksville is looking to hire a new director of administrative services.

The posting doesn’t close until March 4, so chief administrative officer Fed Manson couldn’t say anything about the response to the job posting.

The position has been empty since Laurie Taylor left and council decided not to re-hire right away due to budget considerations.

The director will be part of the senior administration staff, which will complete the roster along with a recently hired director of engineering and operations to fill that position which was also empty for two years due to trouble finding someone with the qualifications — and who wanted the job.

The new director will be responsible for the city’s administration department, oversees the details around council and council meetings and manages the offices.
