Parksville’s ‘Support Local’ parade celebrates businesses

Approximately 30 vehicles turn out for event

Over 30 cars decked out with signs, balloons and flags came out to take part in the ‘Support Local’ parade in Parksville on Thursday night (May 28).

The event, celebrating the re-opening of area businesses, was organized by the Parksville and District Chamber of Commerce.

The parade, featuring a variety of modes of transportation, started at the former Parksville Elementary School parking lot and motored around the city.

Chamber executive director Kim Burden said it was their way of expressing appreciation and support to local businesses and also to the region’s first responders.
