Cam Sim was one of 16 excited grads at the PASS/Woodwinds ceremony last week.

Complete with a last minute venue change, the students of PASS/Woodwinds alternate school in Parksville graduated in style last Wednesday.

Sixteen of the grad class of 23 made the casual ceremony and dinner at the Parksville Community and Conference Centre where students received their dogwood diplomas, awards and scholarships and then got to hang out with their families and guests.

"This school has the best staff I've seen in my life, I've never felt so welcome," said Taylor Hall when principal Joe Panichelli invited any of the grads up who would like to talk.

Hall spoke candidly of being teased at other schools and generally having a rough time and not a lot of hope for the future before he started at PASS/Woodwinds.
