Pirates, stilt walkers and kids with eye patches were scouring Parksville Beach on Saturday, as the Quality Food Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition and Exhibition (Beach Fest) held a treasure hunt in Parksville Community Park.
Kids followed directions to locations around the beach seeking out treasures they got to take home.
In the evening, a light show by VestaFire Entertainment is set to take place with fire spinning, juggling and acrobatics.
