Police seek clues in Bowser theft

Vehicle involved should have damage that's identifiable

Police are on the lookout for the driver of a pickup truck observed fleeing the scene after thieves broke into the Geogia Park Store in Bowser last week.

Oceanside RCMP Sergeant Darrell Robertson said police responded to a reported break and enter in progress at the store at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15, but the culprit or culprits had fled.

Robertson said an older, dark-coloured Dodge pickup was seen by witnesses as it was leaving the area immediately after the theft.

They said the truck was last seen heading south towards Parksville.

He noted the rear of the vehicle was damaged when it was believed to have been used to force entry into the store.

The unidentified culprits got away with about $2,000-worth of cigarettes and beer in the attack.

Anyone with information is requested to contact the Oceanside Detachment of the RCMP at 250-248-6111.
