Oceanside RCMP are seeking the public’s help in finding a motorist who sideswiped another vehicle and fled the scene last Thursday at Island Highway and Hillview Road.

On April 21 at 9:52 a.m., a woman was driving her red Ford Focus eastbound on Island Highway when another motorist merged onto the highway from Hillview Road and sideswiped her vehicle, RCMP said.

The offending motorist stopped briefly but then fled the area without exchanging identity or details. The complaintant’s vehicle had to be towed due to significant damage resulting from the collision.

The offending vehicle is described as a dark grey car, similar to a Sunfire or Cavalier; older than the 2000 model year. If you witnessed this collision, please call Cst. Vandermolen at the Oceanside RCMP Detachment at 250-248-6111.
