Police shut down Errington grow-op

Rural area raid nets 300 marijuana plants and two arrests

When police executed a search warrant on a house in Errington on Wednesday, they struck green gold.

Oceanside RCMP reported the search of the residence near the 1800 block of Errington Road saw officers harvest and bag 300 marijuana plants.

As a result, two men, aged 35 and 57 were arrested by the RCMP without incident.

The pair are facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for production of a prohibited substance.

As well, noted Corporal Jesse Foreman, one of the men was also arrested on an un-endorsed warrant under the Income Tax Act in relation to a 2006 Oceanside RCMP file.

Foreman said charges have been recommended to Crown counsel, with a future court date set.
