Police swarm Temple Street area in Parksville to pursue suspect

The presence of police cars with their lights flashing in the Temple Street area in Parksville startled some residents at around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night (Nov. 1).

According to Sgt. Shane Worth, medial relations officer of the Oceanside RCMP, they were called to a disturbance in 500 block of Temple Street. A suspect, who was identified to be in breach of a court order condition ran away from attending police officers, who gave chase.

A police service dog attended to track the suspect who was subsequently located and arrested in the area of Soriel Road and Zengel Way.

The suspect was held in custody and is schedule to appear in court Wednesday on several recommended charges.
