PQB crime report: $10K in lawn maintenance equipment stolen from Parksville property

Oceanside RCMP also deal with residential break-and-enters, vandalism

Oceanside RCMP received 238 complaints the week of March 5 to March 11.

Some of the incidents included:

March 5

• A four-foot painted red anchor was reported stolen in the 1400 block of Stone Lake Drive, Nanoose Bay.

• Graffiti was reported sprayed onto a school building in the 2800 block of Northwest Bay Road, Nanoose Bay.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized with a window broken in the 100 block of Pym Street North, Parksville.

• A green Polaris 6x6 Sportsman off road vehicle was reported stolen in the 3000 block of Bay Road, Horne Lake.

March 7

• An estimated $10,000 of lawn maintenance equipment was reported stolen from a property in the 600 block of Wildgreen Way, Parksville.

March 8

• A vehicle was reported vandalized with damage to a door and the ignition in the 1300 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville.

• Rear BC plate D65224 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

• A Honda 2000 generator and a Dewalt skill saw were reported stolen in the 600 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.

March 9

• A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 1100 block of Smithers Road, Parksville. A small safe containing papers and cash was noted missing.

March 10

• A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 3800 block of Horne Lake Caves Road, Horne Lake. Among the items noted missing was a Canoe Kota Traxxis Trolling motor and a yellow Dewalt battery charger.

• A blue black Marin Hawk Hill 26 bicycle was reported stolen from school property in the 400 block of Despard Avenue West, Parksville.

March 11

• Insurance and other papers were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the area of Corfield Street South and Evergreen Street, Parksville.

• A nighttime car prowler was reported in the 400 block of Doehle Avenue, Parksville.

• BC boat plate WCH61W was reported stolen in the 1400 block of Tyler Road, Errington.

The detachment is located at 421 Pym Street North, Parksville, with public business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m., Monday to Friday, except holidays.
