PQB crime report: Thieves pilfer surveillance system equipment from Parksville home

Oceanside RCMP received 331 complaints in one-week period

Oceanside RCMP received 331 complaints the week of Aug. 7-13.

Some of the incidents included:

Aug. 7

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 900 block of Fairdowne Road, Parksville.

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 700 block of Humphrey Road, Parksville.

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 200 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville.

Aug. 9

• Two vehicle tires on rims were found in the parking lot of the Englishman River Estuary Park, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 3200 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum. Recyclable bottles were reported missing over the past several months.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a retirement home vehicle in the 100 block of First Avenue West, Qualicum Beach.

• Prescription sunglasses and a wallet were some of the items reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1600 block of Stroulger Road, Nanoose Bay.

Aug. 10

• A cellphone was found in the 100 block of Jensen Avenue West, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• A red and black trim Husky Brand Carpenters bag containing foot care products was reported stolen from a driveway in the 1300 block of Errington Road, Errington.

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 100 block of Bayridge Place, Bowser.

Aug. 11

• A validation sticker was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 600 block of Tamarack Drive, Qualicum Beach.

• A black Marin Fairfax hybrid mountain bicycle was reported stolen in the 1100 block of Resort Drive, Parksville.

• A Razor brand scooter was found in the 100 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

Aug. 12

• A vehicle was reported stolen in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville. Vehicle was recovered on Aug. 13.

• A nighttime prowler was reported to have caused yard damage in the 200 block of McKinnon Street, Parksville.

• A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville. Thieves were reported to have stolen a microwave and totes.

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 800 block of Beach Road, Qualicum Beach.

• B.C. licence plate MT2068 with the validation sticker was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville.

• A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 200 block of Dogwood Street, Parksville. There was damage to the property and a laptop was stolen. A suspect was arrested.

Aug. 13

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 600 block of Ermineskin Avenue, Parksville.

• A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 3100 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach. Unlocked vehicles, storage rooms and offices were accessed. A suspect was arrested.

• A black case containing Stanley ratchets were found in the 2300 block of Andover Road, Nanoose Bay. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 200 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville. Mail, keys and surveillance system equipment was noted stolen.

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 800 block of Beach Road, Qualicum Beach.
