Parksville will hold a public hearing Jan. 16 regarding a zoning and development amendment bylaw for 285 Pioneer Cr.

The hearing was initially set for Dec. 19, but due to legislative notice timelines not being met, it had to be rescheduled for Jan. 16 at 10 a.m., according to council’s Dec. 19 agenda.

A motion that Zoning and Development Amendment Bylaw, 2022, No. 2000.143 be advanced to a public hearing was carried unanimously during council’s Dec. 19 regular meeting.

If passed, the amendment will rezone the property from the Single Family Residential RS-1 zone to the Comprehensive Development CD-35 zone to facilitate the continued operation of an existing home-based irrigation business.

Written comment must be received prior to the end of the hearing to be considered.

Following the hearing, the bylaw will need to receive a third reading by council before it can be adopted.
