After the conclusion of collective bargaining, the Town of Qualicum Beach and Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 401 have ratifyed a three-year agreement that provides stability for both the municipality and the workforce.

Terms of agreement approved by council and the CUPE Local 401 Qualicum Beach members on July, 4 cover the period of July, 1 2018 to June, 30 2021. The agreement includes increases to some of the annual limits on extended health benefits and wage increases of two per cent in each year of the agreement.

The monetary agreement is consistent with other recent CUPE municipal settlements on Vancouver Island.
