Qualicum Becach OCP draft pushed back

First public info session on Sept. 13

Qualicum Beach town council and staff have decided to push back the deadline for the Official Community Plan draft to January 2018.

The draft will be presented at the first council meeting in the new year, planning director Luke Sales said at Monday’s (Aug. 21) meeting.

He said it would be “really helpful” to prepare a summary report of the feedback heard at upcoming public engagement sessions. The summary, Sales said, would be a chance to go back to the community and make sure its ideas were properly reported on.

The first public information meeting is scheduled for Sept. 13, from 6-9 p.m. The topics will include a report on the Quality of Life survey findings and engagement on phase two of the review.
