RCMP arrest suspect after attempted break-and-enter in Parksville

Resident provides description, cops nab 46-year-old man

A man was arrested following a break-and-enter in Parksville.

The accused is a 46-year-old Parksville man, was heard on the 900 block of Wright Road May 3 at approximately 10 p.m.

“A man reported that it sounded as though someone was on his property and perhaps attempting to break into his residence,” said Jesse Foreman of the Oceanside RCMP. “The caller then witnessed a male leaving his driveway and provided a good description.”

A search found break-and-entry tools on the person, as well as a small amount of illicit drugs. Nothing was stolen or missing from the residence.

The accused was released and has a court date for July 8.
