RDN approves youth grants in Parksville, Qualicum Beach

Regional District of Nanaimo doles out some help for the younger set

The Regional District of Nanaimo has approved a total of $9,800 in youth grants, along with $14,355 worth of community grants to groups in the RDN.

In the youth grant category, the Bard to Broadway Theatre Society received $1,000 for their youth theatre program, while they received an additional $1,500 for their education series.

The District 69 Family Resource Association received $1,200 and the Oceanside BMX got $1,600, the Oceanside Youth Football Association received $2,000 and the Ravensong Aquatic Club got $2,500.

 

Community grants in District 69 included $2,700 and $1,000 to the Lighthouse Recreation Commission, $450 for the Oceanside Community Arts Council, $1,200 for the Arrowsmith Community Enhancement Society, $1,800 for The Old School Hosue arts centre, $1,250 for the Parksville Badminton Club, $1,500 for the Parksville and District 69 Team, $1,500 for the Parksville Lions Club and $1,000 for the Qualicum Beach Beach Day organizing committee.
