Pacific Rainforest Adventure Tours was contacted last month by York Pijahn, a freelance journalist from Germany visiting Vancouver Island on assignment to produce an article for an international airline magazine.
His task was to see and photograph places for travelers to hike where they could experience rainforests, beaches and whales. The locally owned company conducts a regularly scheduled day trip once a week departing from Parksville and Qualicum Beach to Ucluelet and Tofino. The journalist selected this company and their tours as his main source of information about the region.
The article will be published in June in Lufthansa's Woman's World magazine.
About Pacific Rainforest Adventure Tours: Gary Murdock has 35 years experience with the B.C. Forest Service, and partner Ronda's interests include First Nation studies, natural history and birding. Both are members of the Arrowsmith Naturalists and are involved in local conservation efforts. They live in Parksville.
