Regional District of Nanaimo lifts mask requirements at Ravensong pool, Oceanside Place

With the provincial health authority easing COVID-19 restrictions, the Regional District of Nanaimo is also amending its protocols.

Masks are no longer mandatory in RDN facilities or on RDN Transit vehicles starting March 11. The RDN respects the choice of individuals who wish to continue to wear a mask in their facilities and programs.

Proof of vaccination is still required by Public Health Order for all participants and spectators at both Ravensong Aquatic Centre in Qualicum Beach and Oceanside Place Arena in Parksville, except those under 22 years of age participating in indoor recreation and sport programs that are for children and youth.

Valid photo government picture identification for ages 19 and over is required alongside the proof of vaccination, which the province plans to lift on Friday, April 8.

For those who prefer to access services and information virtually, the RDN offers several options:

• Payment of bills online through financial institutions, by mail with a cheque and telephone banking. Visit rdn.bc.ca/payments for more information,
• Bylaw Enforcement complaints can be submitted and building permit application information and input forms can be found athttps://cv.rdn.bc.ca/NanaimoPortal.
• For zoning information for Electoral Areas (except Electoral Area B), visit rdn.bc.ca/current-planning.
• RDN Board, Standing Committees and Select Committees may be watched via webstream. These webstreamed meetings are also recorded for the public to watch online. Some Advisory Committees and Commissions continue to be webstreamed while some are only in person. Visit rdn.bc.ca/agendas-minutes-videos for information on which meetings are webstreamed, access to video recordings and the meeting calendar.
