SLOW DOWN: Flagger Denise Kerr of Knappett Construction urges motorists to exercise caution on route 19A in Parksville. The $2 million contract with the city calls for Knappett to upgrade and widen 800 metres of the highway. That work will include a turning lane, sidewalks, traffic lights and new sewer, water and storm water mains. The work will be completed by November and the city says it will not disrupt traffic in the July and August peak tourist time.
