Second driver loses license

Police are not kidding around with impaired drivers

A vehicle was all over Alberni Highway and the sidewalk and into a parking lot before turning left — the wrong way — onto Craig Street Monday.

RCMP Corporal  Richard van de Pol said the 64-year-old driver then returned to the credit union.

Police demanded a breath sample as he left the building.

“He blew a fail. He lost his licence for 90 days.”

Van de Pol noted the driver had previously been ordered to install an ignition interlock device, which prevents the car from moving if the driver has been drinking.
