Speed contributed to rollover near Horne Lake

Driver and two passengers treated for minor injuries

Police believe speed was a crucial contributing factor in a single vehicle rollover near Horne Lake Road this week.

Oceanside RCMP Corporal Jesse Foreman said the crash took place at 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 25 on the Inland Island Highway near the Horne Lake Road exit.

“The driver of the vehicle left the roadway and entered the center grass median before re-entering the northbound lane and rolling the vehicle at least once,” Forman said.

The 27-year-old female driver and her two passengers were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in Comox to be treated for minor injuries.

Foreman said witnesses to the crash said speed was a factor.
