Sudden death investigation in Errington turned over to coroner

Police called to multiple incidents on Smithers Road

Oceanside RCMP officers were called to the 1100 block of Smithers Rd. in Errington on Jan.9 for multiple unrelated incidents that demanded a multi-officer response.

General duty officers were on Smithers Road assisting the BC Ambulance Service with a reported sudden death. This matter has been turned over to the BC Coroners Service. Foul play is not suspected.

During the same period of time, Oceanside General Investigation Section executed a search warrant at a residence in the area that resulted in the arrest of two individuals.

“The two incidents were unrelated but prompted a significant police presence,” said Sgt. Stephen Rose of the Oceanside RCMP.
